BIOGRAPHY
After finishing studies at The Ontario College of Art in 1979, Moss, while living in London England monitored classes in various colleges in London England for a year.
In the early 1980's Moss exhibited in the Toronto, Yorkville area, selling to corporate collections such as Imperial Oil, Manulife, Norcen Energy Resources, Toronto Dominion Bank as well as to Memorial University Art Gallery, St. John's, Newfoundland.
In 1981, Moss was selected through an invitational jury process to complete a major mural commission for The Royal Ontario Museum. Moss placed his fine art career on hiatus for 34 years, while he ran MOSSINFX, his successful faux painting business. Retiring this business allowed time to once again focus on his art.
David is currently painting his Cloud Series, with acrylics on canvas. His interest is in using transparent veils of paint, with the colour and contrast manipulated to create a dramatic sense of depth in the clouds.
David has expanded his focus to include painting clouds reflected on the ripples of water surface. Most recently, he is painting air bubbles in water. Some of these recent paintings are meant to be hung with no "top," designated by the artist. These paintings are mounted such that these paintings are interactive. A viewer of these works is invited to spin these paintings on the wall, to allow them a 360 degree view of these works.
